Why I'm launching a podcast - and Why Now

In just a few days — on 22 September — I will launch my very first podcast:

The World of Liesbet – How to Become an Agent of Change.

It’s something I’ve quietly dreamed about for a long time.

And now that it’s almost here, I find myself both excited and a little exposed.

Because this project is personal.

Deeply so.

I created this podcast with one question in mind:

What would have helped me a few years ago?

What guidance,

what voices,

what tools would have supported me as I tried to figure out my role in the world

— as a researcher, as a citizen, as a human being with a fire inside?

The power of reflection — and of sharing what we learn

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to grow.

I’ve learned lessons I wish I had learned earlier.

I’ve met people who challenged and inspired me.

I’ve had the privilege of deep, sometimes difficult, always enriching conversations.

And I’ve read hundreds of books and listened to countless podcasts that helped me think, feel and act differently.

And throughout all of that, a thought kept returning:

This richness is not just for me.

I felt the pull to share it.

Not as an expert with all the answers.

But as someone who’s walked (and is still walking) the path —and who wants to offer others something that might help them take their next step, too.

For people with big dreams — and real doubts

This podcast is for:

People with big dreams and strong values.

People who see injustice and feel deeply disturbed by it.

People who want to make the world better, but don’t always know where to start.

People who have something to give — even if they don’t fully see it yet.

People who sometimes feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or stuck.

But still… keep caring.

To those people, I want to say:

You’re not alone.

And your individual power matters more than you know.

What you can expect

In The World of Liesbet, I speak with people who inspire me.

Some of them are what I call agents of change — people who take on real-world problems with courage, clarity and vision.

Others are mentors, thinkers, creators — or people with deep expertise in tools and methods that help us grow into who we need to become.

Together, we talk about:

• purpose and impact

• personal growth and self-leadership

• justice, science and ethics

• and the quiet power of choosing to act — even when it’s hard

Because real change doesn’t just happen in the world.It starts within us.
